We are currently seeking volunteers to fill a number of positions. The details are below.
We are seeking a sociable individual to coordinate volunteer recruitment for the church. No related experience is necessary, though it would be beneficial. An openness to interfaith discussion and the existence of God is required.
The volunteer coordinator will be based in South London and will have the role of working closely with the charity director to advertise vacancies online and offline in order to recruit suitable candidates for the roles advertised on this page. The time commitment is flexible, and persons from any background are welcome to apply.
We are seeking an individual with a sound knowledge of UK charity law to advise on matters related to a governing document for the church and to provide legal advice related to the growth and development of the church and its ministries. The initial time commitment will be just a few hours a week, with the potential for this to be extended in the future. There may be a position for the Legal Advisor on the board of trustees, if this is mutually agreed.
The successful applicant will need to believe in God and feel aligned to the vision of the church and its ministries. They will also need to be based in South London or be able to travel to South London occasionally for meetings. This is a voluntary role, though reasonable expenses will be covered and there may be the potential for financial remuneration related to the position of Legal Advisor in the future.
Treasurer / Fundraiser
We are seeking an individual with considerable experience in overseeing the finances of charities and/or other large organisations to head up the accounting and fundraising arm of the church and to sit on the board of trustees. The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:
• Making sure the charity keeps proper accounts
• Reviewing the charity’s financial performance
• Drawing up or reviewing policies for finance and investment
• Ensuring that the charity has robust and effective financial controls in place
• Guiding fundraising initiatives in line with fundraising law
A knowledge of contemporary accounting software and best practices related to accounting is essential, as is a belief in God. The time commitment will be a few hours a week initially (to be reviewed regularly). The successful applicant will need to be based in South London, or at least be able to travel to South London occasionally.
Director of Music and Events
We are seeking an experienced event organiser with knowledge of the music industry to take charge of organising events for the church. Examples of events include worship parties, debate nights, and live music nights. The role would suit an individual who believes in God, though applications from people of any religious background are welcome.
The role will be voluntary initially, with the potential for financial remuneration in the future. The time commitment will be discussed during the applicant’s interview, and will be reviewed regularly. A commitment to the vision of the church is essential. The successful applicant must be able and willing to work with a degree of independence, though they will liaise with the Ministries Coordinator concerning the planning of events.
Director of Publishing
We are seeking an individual with experience of the publishing industry to work with us to facilitate the publishing of books and other publications in line with the ethos and activities of the church. The role will involve liaising with the Ministries Coordinator regarding suitable publishing projects, and then taking the lead in bringing those projects to fruition.
It is desirable for applicants to have some knowledge of contemporary publishing technology (such as POD printing and digital distribution), though this can be learned ‘on the job’ if necessary. Candidates should have an awareness of, or openness to the existence of God, although applications from people of any religious background are welcome.
The time commitment will be a few hours a week initially (to be reviewed regularly). This role could be undertaken working from home, although it would be advantageous for the successful candidate to either live in South London, or be able to travel to South London occasionally.
Director of Counselling
We are seeking an individual with experience in mental health and recovery to oversee the counselling ministry of the church. The role will require a serious commitment as the successful applicant will be developing a counselling service from scratch. A knowledge of a wide range of approaches to counselling is desirable, as is an interest in philosophy, theology, and spirituality.
The successful candidate will be willing to abide by a code of ethics, and will have an understanding of the UK mental health system. They will liaise with the Ministries Coordinator concerning the strategy and direction of the counselling service and any other related issues. An openness to both the existence of God and to the vision of the church are essential.
The time commitment will be discussed with the Ministries Coordinator during the interview process. The successful applicant will need to be based in South London or be able to travel to South London with ease.
Director of Digital
We are seeking an individual to oversee the maintenance of the various websites related to the church and its ministries. A knowledge of the WordPress CMS is essential, and a knowledge of SiteGround would be beneficial. Experience with online promotion and digital marketing is desirable, especially SEO, social media management and online advertising. Knowledge about issues related to digital security and GDPR compliance is essential.
The time commitment will be a few hours a week initially, with the potential for growth and a greater involvement with the church (and potentially a paid role) in the future. A belief in God is not essential for this role, but the successful candidate will be able to understand and respect the mission of the church. A servant heart and a kind character are essential qualities for this role. The successful candidate can work from home, and location isn’t too important.

There is no closing date for applications to the above positions, however once there have been three applications for any one position, the opening for that position will close and the relevant advertisement will be taken down. The interview process will then begin.
The Interview Process
All three applicants for each position will be contacted by Steven via email to arrange a 20-minute telephone interview. After the interviews for a particular role are complete, we will contact each applicant via email within 7 days of the interview to let them know whether or not we would like to offer them the position. Then, subject to any DBS checks, we can agree on a start date for the role, taking into consideration any time commitments which the person who is to engage in the role already has.
